ABOUT
Gateway Therapies focuses on a technique called Fascial Counterstrain Therapy.

Fascial Counterstrain Therapy is a hands-on approach to addressing dysfunctional fascia, the connective tissue that surrounds and interconnects all structures within the body, including muscles, nerves, blood vessels, and organs. This therapy targets specific tender points in the fascia that can become tight and restricted due to stress or injury. By carefully assessing these points through touch, even remotely from where the pain is felt, practitioners can pinpoint the exact origin of discomfort.

Unlike traditional methods that focus on stretching or manipulating muscles directly, Fascial Counterstrain (FCS) aims to alleviate pain and dysfunction by identifying and addressing tender points within the fascial network.

Fascial Counterstrain recognizes three main types of fascia: Superficial, which is closely associated with the skin; Deep, which surrounds muscles, bones, and nerves; and Visceral or Subserous, which envelops internal organs. This holistic approach aims to improve mobility, alleviate pain, and support overall well-being by addressing fascial imbalances throughout the body.

Here at Gateway Therapies we use a precise, gentle technique to release these tender points, promoting relaxation and improved function of the affected tissues. By restoring balance to the fascial system, Fascial Counterstrain seeks to enhance overall mobility, reduce pain, and support the body's natural healing processes. Fascial Counterstrain Therapy is grounded in extensive anatomical knowledge and bolstered by a robust research community. Ongoing advancements in cutting-edge technology continue to enhance its effectiveness. Our objective with FCS Therapy is to provide sustainable, long-term relief for our clients.
